New detective
fiction from the Wicked Company Writers Community
Edited by D.L. Browne
and Kevin Burton Smith
The challenge was simple enough: we asked the members of the Wicked Company's crimewriters' group to write a private eye story.
Although some of them grumbled and groused at first that the restrictions of the P.I. genre were just too damn tight, you wouldn't know it by the sheer variety of submissions we received.
The seven original stories presented here, all bright and sparkly and seeing print for the first time, are by writers you probably haven't heard of before. But I'm willing to bet you'll be hearing plenty from some of them soon enough.
And, if you ask me, the
writers presented here not only did the genre proud, but themselves
as well. even better, I think they had fun rising to the challenge.
And I think that sense of fun will become pretty obvious to you
when you read the results...
