I
Created by Edward Wellen
This 1975 short story, narrated by a computer programmed to
make like a Bogey-type private eye, in order to get a scientist
out of a Cold War jam, is an intriguing blend of mystery, detective
fiction and sci-fi, and a classic of sorts, well worth hunting
down.
It foreshadows the internet, databases and indeed, much of
what the real-life job of private investigation has become.
