Elmo Hash
Created by Jeff Long
Hugh Lessig, who does The
Pulp Foil web site, has three characters who cover the
crime beat for that erstwhile, albeit fictional, publication.
There's Picasso Smith, whose
tales encompass the 1930s, the 1940s and the 1950s. And these
days, there's Picasso Smith, Jr.
and Alamo Barnes. And covering
the Sixties Hugh there's Jeff Long's ELMO HASH.
Long certainly has a bit of a flair for the dramatic. His first
Foil novella, "Elmo Hash and the Groovy Summer of Love"
has CIA spooks, Hare Krishnas, and J. Edgar Hoover in a fetching
evening gown. Good stuff.
According to Hugh Lessig,
Elmo's creator, Jeff Long, was last seen stumbling through the
streets of Hampton, Va.

affectionate tribute to the hardboiled newshawks of the pulps.
A site definitely worth bookmarking.
