Sebastian Blayne
Created by Sebastian Blayne (pseud. of Janet Huckins)
(1911-1981)
Janet Huckins, under the pen name of Sebastian Blayne, wrote a couple of Gold Medals about New York City private eye SEBASTIAN BLAYNE, in the fifties. According to our pal, Juri Nummelin , they're "Not very memorable from what I've read - actually best forgotten. But they are P.I. novels."
My guess, judging from the covers, is that these are at least as much gothics as P.I. novels. The backcover description of Gay Ghastly Holiday reads "Every embrace of love had the shadow of death over it. Every time Moira tried to escape from the past, there was that paralyzing terror, the spectre of evil to torture her. Every kiss became the last, every touching of hands a signal for disaster. A great first novel by an author you will want to read again and again."
