Santa Barbara (Santa
Theresa)
"Nothing is wrong with Southern California
that a rise in the ocean level wouldn't cure."
(Ross MacDonald)
Macdonald first coined the name Santa Theresa, substituting
it for Santa Barbara. Sue Grafton later adopted it as the hometown
of Kinsey Milhone.
- Lew Archer by Ross Macdonald
- Kinsey Millhone by
Sue Grafton (Santa Theresa)
- Auggie West by Joe Lofgreen
.
- And if it doesn't have to be Santa Barbara proper, Richard
Barre's Wil Hardesty is
in La Conchita (a "little beach community between Ventura
and Santa Barbara.")
Thanks, Jan.
