Any red, white and blue comic geek who's been ignoring European comics is missing out on a world of good stuff. The Europeans (and that includes the U.K., France, Italy, Sweden, Spain, Finland, Portugal, Belgium, Norway, Denmark, etc.) have been dishing out grade-A level crime and detective comics for decades, from goofy screwball romps for kids to some of the most harrowing and decidedly adult noir while most of the North American industry were still featuring super-powered muscleheads bouncing around in their underwear.

Fortunately, that's slowly changing, as more and more of these titles are translated into English and made available on this side of the pond...
