P.I. renaissance man Max Allan Collins has also crossed over into other genres, including his stories about Chicago private eye, RICHARD STONE, which combine dark fantasy elements with the P.I. story. Collins considers the first Stone story, A Wreath for Marley" his gene-splice of The Maltese Falcon and Dickens' A Christmas Carol. It's also served as the basis of his as yet unproduced script, Blue Christmas. The second Stone story, "A Bird for Becky," is the Thanksgiving-oriented sequel.
Of course, Max Allan Collins is also the man responsible for P.I.s MS. TREE and NATE HELLER.
