Sydney Sloane
Created by Randeye Lordon

Determined New York City P.I. SYDNEY SLOANE is one of the more popular and interesting of the recent glut of lesbian sleuths. Part of the series' charm is due to the chemistry between her and her straight male colleague Max. Another nice touch is just how family-oriented the series is (just take a glance at those titles, if you don't believe me).

In fact, Sydney's extended circle of family and friends reminds me at times of Rob Kantner's Ben Perkins or even television's Jim Rockford.

Both Brotherly Love (1994) and Father Forgive Me (1997) were nominated for Shamuses, for Best First Private Eye Novel and Best P.I. Paperback Original.

Randye Lordon is the author of the Sydney Sloane series. She lives and works (for an internet support company) in Amagansett, New York.
