Rex Burns, the man behind Devlin Kirk and Jack Steele returns to the P.I. fold with the first book in what looks like a promising series, featuring the father-and-daughter team of Denver private investigators JIM and JULIE RAIFORD.

Jim's a former lawyer who didn't exactly set the world on fire, but it turns out he's a pretty good gumshoe, and Julie's "a whip-smart sleuth looking to prove she's every bit as savvy as her father."

Despite several solid forays into the shamus game, Rex Burns is probably best known for his long-running (and Edgar-winning) series featuring Denver police detective Gabe Wager.
