Created by Robert J. Randisi

SALVATORE CARLUCCI, part-time peeper and owner of The Black Moon bar, enlists the aid of "America's toughest detectives" to track down some paintings stolen forty years previously during WWII, in the 1989 multiple-author novel The Black Moon.

Along for the ride are Ralph Parnell (written by Ed Gorman), Miami investigator Tony Mack (by W. R. Philbrick), Laura Bailey (by L. J. Washburn) and Iron Harbor,Michigan police chief and part-time private investigator Riley Cooper by Loren D. Estleman).

Salvatore also has a (very) brief cameo in The Night Remembers (1991), a standalone featuring private eye Ed Gorman's Jack Walsh, who served with him in Italy in WWII.
