ìShe walked into my office smelling like a meadow of flowers and looking like one long night of trouble.î
Horrormeister Ray Garton's entry into the shamus game is Murder was My Alibi (2014), a juicy little novella that tails skeazy, sleazy private peeper MYRON FOOTE as he works cut-rate cases for cut-rate clients in cut-rate marriages. But l;ately, business isn't so hot. In fact, as he ruefully admits, "Lately, jobs had been as scarce as sex."
All that changes, though, when a redhead bombshell struts into his office and offers him a small fortune to pose as her Uncle Percy.
Naturally, Myron jumps at the chance. After all, what could go wrong?
