Think of it as a cross between Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum and Jean Kerr's Please Don't Eat the Daisies.

Margie Peterson is a wannabe Super-Mom living in the 'burbs just outside of Austin, Texas, juggling two hyperactive brats, an incontinent Siamese cat and a too-busy-to-notice hubby on the partnership track to becoming a partner in his law firm.

But that's not enough on her plate, so she takes a part-time job with Peachtree Investigations, a scuzzy local P.I. firm, and soon enough she's also got a slew of assorted truth-avoiding clients and other lunatics -- including a dead transvestite or two -- to contend with, in Mother's Day Out (2014).
