 Robert K. Lewis' character MARK MALLEN is a former undercover cop in San Francisco who went a little too undercover. Now he's an ex-cop, working as a private detective (and a recovering heroin addict) in a series that's been praised for its dark, gritty vibe.
The authors cops to living "in the Bay Area" and when he's not writing to "drinking copious amounts of wine (and) playing blues guitar at incredibly high volumes."
