Liz Hunter

This one truly is a mystery wrapped up in an enigma.

LIZ HUNTER, as far as I can tell, made only one appearance, in a magazine that only ran for two (or was it three?) issues.

All I know about Liz is that, according to the cover of the first issue of the short-lived (and hard to find) Private Eye Illustrated, she's a "blonde private eye-ful with the most... DANGEROUS CURVES." And judging by the illustration, she's certainly attractive, rocking a red cocktail dress and pearls look very well, and that she smokes.

But that's about it. I've never read the story inside (if there even was one).

I know about as much as the magazine itself. Besides boasting a great cover for the first issue and a title that hits most of my sweet spots, there's really very little I could find on the net, or in any of my reference books. One seller claims it features "short stories, true crime tales and pin-ups," but Fiction Mags lists it as true crime.
