Leena O'Neil

Created by Dayle Campbell Gaetz

Twenty year old LEENA O'NEIL comes from a family of lawyers, but she's had little to do with them ever since she walked away three years ago. Instead, she's thrown herself into her chosen field, taking a slew of online courses in criminology, forensics and investigation. She now, she proudly states, "almost a private investigator."

But the ties that bind prove harder to break than she expected in her debut, Disappearing Act (2015), when she gets a call for help from her older "perfect" sister Georgia (an attorney, of course), who's convinced that her husband Mark is trying to kill her. Leena isn't sure she wants to get involved with her family again, but she reluctantly agrees to look into things. And then Mark is murdered.

The first in a proposed series, the book is part of Orca Books' Rapid Reads series, which publishes individually bound novellas "intended for a diverse audience, including ESL students, reluctant readers, adults who struggle with literacy and anyone who wants a high-interest quick read."

Other Rapid Reads authors include crime and mystery writers Linda L. Richards, Reed Farrel Coleman, Melodie Campbell, Ronald Tierney and Rick Blechta.
