KATE SHACKLETON is a private investigator plying her trade in 1920s England, in a popular series of cozies by Frances Brody that straddle the line between the traditional and modern day British mystery.

Widowed by World War I, the former nurse discovers she has a knack for finding people, and wouldn't you know it? There are a lot of old schoolmates, distant relatives and friends of friends who ask the lady detective for help.
