John "One-Eyed Jack" Sharp

Created by Christopher J. Lynch

"I make my living by keeping secrets."

Despite his debut being nominated for a Shamus by The Private Eye Writers of America (in their new "Indie" category) in 2013, Christopher J. Lynch's series character JOHN "One-Eyed Jack" SHARP isn't really a private eye.

Rather, he -- and his creator -- refer to him as a "professional blackmailer." Which means he earns his scratch by extorting money from cheating spouses, petty thieves, corporate miscreants and anyone else with secrets they'd rather not be made public.

And he seems totally untroubled by any moral ramifications. "If you think I'm slime, at least I'm a slime with good manners."

Oh, the monicker? Sharp got his nickname when one of his schemes went awry, and a Russian mobster set his pitbulls on him.

Christopher Lynch is a freelance writer living in Los Angeles, as well as an avid cyclist and mountain climber.
