Jimmy Veeder

Created by Johnny Shaw

Even his creator, neo-pulpster Johnny Shaw, doesn't consider JIMMY VEEDER a private eye.

What he is, he confesses, is a "shit magnet."

A semi-reformed brawler and would-be farmer and family man from California's Imperial Valley near the Mexican border, trouble just seems to find him. The author doesn't even call the books "mysteries" or "adventures" -- they're proudly labeled "fiascoes" on the cover, as in "A Jimmy Veeder Fiasco."

The author was born and raised in the desert southwest on the Calexico-Mexicali border. His work has appeared in Thuglit, Crime Factory, Plots with Guns, and various anthologies, and he' the creator and editor of the online fiction magazine Blood & Tacos, a loving homage to the men's adventure paperbacks of the 1970s and 1980s.
