Red-headed JIM PIRON heads the small London office of a large American detective agency run by "The Old Man" in New York City. The series was apparently quite popular in the U.K., with John Conquest praising the stories for their "lively characters and ingenious plots" in Trouble is Their Business, but they were pretty much DOA on this side of ther Atlantic.
Hmmm... since Hammett, there have been quite a few detectives agencies run by "The Old Man. Maybe someone should make a list...
WTF????
- On Amazon, some doofus from Texas wants $3800 big ones for a copy of Death Pays the Wages. No explanation why.
