JACK GARNER isn't a private eye, per se. He's more of a con artist who dreams up a ghostbusting scam -- until he actually nails his first ghost, Lady, a female spirit who becomes his accomplice. With Lady's help, he soon recruits two other relatively benign (and bored) spooks, Thomas and Geronimo, who also aid him with his ghostbusting.
It's a sweet deal all around, and Garner's jaundiced eye and hard-boiled patter aren't far from an old RKO noir.
And then they meet a truly malevolent spirit.
Conn Iggulden is a historical author, best known for his bestselling Emperor series -- and for the the megasmash, The Dangerous Book for Boys.
