Harlan Donnally was a former San Francisco Police Detective who was Retired on disability after being shot on the job, former San Francisco police Department dicl HARLAN DONNALLY figures it's the quiet life for him, and lights out for the boonies -- in his case, Mount Shasta in Northern California, where he runs a small cafe. But he comes gets back into the shamus game when he promises a dying friend that he'll find his younger sister, Anna, who was placed in a home when she was five-years old in his first appearance, Act of Deceit (2011)

The publisher informs us that Act of Deceit is where "Gore enters the crime fiction domain of Harlan Coben, Robert B. Parker, Stuart Woods, and Robert Crais," but that remains to be seen. I mean, how many promises did he make to how many dying friends?

As a real-life private eye, Steven gore has investigated murder, fraud, money laundering, organized crime, political corruption, and drug, sex, and arms trafficking, in Europe, Asia, and Latin America, and been featured on 60 Minutes. He is trained in forensic science and has lectured to professional organizations on a wide range of legal and criminal subjects. He's recently started a new series featuring Bay Area P.I. Graham Gage.
