Eddie Wade

Created by John Charles Gifford

A Montréal private eye, circa 1953. The Last Tram on Dorchester Street (2013) was the enthusiastic first in a proposed series by John Charles Gifford, and it definitely showed promise.

EDDIE WADE, a local private investigator, just wants to go home, but a late night streetcar ride leads to him witnessing the murder of Saul Blumenthal, a Jewish-German immigrant. A murder that, it turns out, the police aren't very interested in.

It took awhile, but in 2017, Eddie returned in The Long Blue Stare, which finds him hot on the trail of Philippe Belanger, the partner in an investment firm and a suspected embezzler, who's skipped bail.

The author, John Charles Gifford. earned two degrees from the University of Minnesota, served in the Peace Corps in the Republic of Liberia, and currently lives and writes full-time in Montreal, Quebec. He's also the author of the 2016 thriller Murder on the Rue Catinat set in Saigon.
