Michel Doucette & Sassy Jones
Created by David Lennon
New Orleans-based MICHEL DOUCETTE (he's gay) and his female partner ALEXANDRA "SASSY" JONES (she's not) are former homicide detectives who end up running their own detective agency in a series of self-published novels starting with Quarter Boys (2009).
The second novel in the series, Echoes (201), won the 2010 Lambda Literary Award for Best Gay Mystery, and was followed by four more novels, including what the author, David Lennon, says is the sixth and final installment in the series, 2013's well-written and moving (and aptly titled) Fierce.
