Donald Tremaine
Created by Michael Craven
Former championship surfer DONALD TREMAINE turned his back on the endless summer to become a private eye, southern California division, living with his ancient English Bulldog Lyle and working out of a house trailer in a Malibu trailer park.
But this is more than another Rockford ripoff -- Craven knows his stuff, and brings his own offbeat vibe to the shamus game. Donald won't necessarily being dumping everything to go fishing with his dad, but he has been known to chuck it all for a few days to go surfing -- non-professionally.
But that's par for the course. Donald's a younger man than Rockford, and definitely from a different generation -- one that inhaled.
Michael Craven has served as a copywriter and creative director in the advertising industry, and is the author of The Detective and the Pipe Girl (2014), featuring another SoCal private detective John Darvelle. The author grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, lived for many years in Los Angeles, and now lives and works in New York City.
