Dewey Webb

Created by Renee Pawlish

Prolific neo-pulpster, would-be self-publishing titan and five-star Amazon review collector Renee Pawlish takes a break from her popular series about contemporary Denver private eye Reed Ferguson to kick off a new series, featuring DEWEY WEBB, a Denver gumshoe working the mean streets of post-World War II Denver.

The author tags the series debut, Web of Deceit (2016), as being a "historical mystery that's great for fans who love a traditional detective crime story with a noir flavor" but I do have to wonder why she also feels compelled to also mention there's not "a lot of sex or swearing."

I mean, has she even read the stuff she likens her books to, or is it that she feels her readers haven't?

Because I'd love to read some traditional detective crime story with a noir flavor that does have a lot of sex and swearing.

Besides the Reed Ferguson series, Pawlish writes the Nephilim fantasy trilogy, the Noah Winters YA adventure series, the Sarah Spillman series (about a female cop), a middle-grade historical novel, a bunch of short stories and even a non-fiction account of a haunted house investigation. The Sallie House: Exposing the Beast Within.
