Australian-born newspaper reporter BRETT HARRISON has pretty much given up on ever winning a Pulitizer (or getting his marriage to work), and has instead packed up and moved to the Caribbean island of St. George, where he's signed on with the St. George Examiner, a local paper.
But the easy-going days of bachelor paradise he'd hoped for end abruptly when he loses his job. Fortunately, by the time he makes his fictional debut in The Rough Side (2013), he's already landed a new gig -- as a private eye. And he's promptly hired by a woman to investigate the death of her grandfather, a local character who's just washed up on the beach at a popular tourist spot.
Under the same Thomson pseudonym, the prolific author writes a couple of series, one featuring former priest Max Castillo, who works as a private eye in Benidorm, Spain, and another starring a former boxer and ex-con, Liam Quinn, turned insurance investigator. He's also written several standalone thrillers.
