Here's an promising new P.I., for those of you who like 'em broken and rough and boiled down to hard.
From the same guy that brought you private eye Lee Henry Oswald, he of the unfortunate name, and sometime-sheriff Joe Cantrell, comes ARLO BAINES, a former Texas Ranger who's still reeling from the slaughter of his wife and two kids a year earlier.
Turning his back on the world, Arlo's content to just drift. But wouldn't you know it? The world's not done fucking with him, and he seems to find trouble wherever he goes. Or at least that's what the theme of this proposed new series is, at least as suggested by the subtitle to the first book, The Devil's Country (2017) -- it's subtitled "The Drifter."
Harry Hunsicker is a fourth-generation native of Dallas, Texas, but don't hold that against him. He's a former executive vice president of the Mystery Writers of America, and his debut novel, Still River, which introduced Oswald was nominated for a Shamus Award by the Private Eye Writers of America. He still lives in Dallas, where he works as a commercial real estate appraiser and occasionally speaks on creative writing.
