A struggling (aren't they all?) New York actress "rapidly running out of money", ANNIE McGROGAN decides to supplement her income by moonlighting for a detective agency run by a crusty ex-cop called Duke. Annie figures she's a natural, since detecting and acting require the same talents-deception, disguise and endless patience. Light, but engaging, reminiscent of Simon Brett's Charles Paris or Linda Barnes Michael Sprague. By the way, author Gillian B. Farrell is an actress who actually did once work for a detective agency.
