Buddy Margolies
Created by David Gates
BUDDY MARGOLIES is a Boston P.I. in this excellent short
story, a dry run for a proposed detective novel, according to
the intro. And some great cameos-a tip of the hat to George Higgins'
Jerry Kennedy and a barroom chat with Robert B. Parker's
Spenser and Hawk.
I'm not sure if the novel was ever written, but eleven years
later, another short story popped up, featuring Boston P.I. Jack Thibault, and another nod to
Spenser.
