Although Mike Malley, Private Eye had three shots at network airing, no copies have survived of this radio detective drama, sowe know relatively little about it, other than the fact that Steve Brodie played the title role.
ABC debuted this 30 minute show in July of 1953 and ran it weekly for the summer only. That network resurrected it in October of 1953 but turned it into a 15 minute show that aired five times a week at 8:45 PM. It ended in April 1954. CBS then brought it back to the air two years later, but in the original format of a 30 minute one evening a week. It lasted only until March of 1957.
This series was Brodie's only radio attempt. He was fairly successful as a film actor, beginning in 1944, usually playing rugged outdoors men. He was in many action films, including Winchester 73, This Man's Navy, and Only The Valiant.
