I admit it; I'm kinda fonda WANDA MALLORY, Valerie Frankel's tough-talkin', chain-smokin' gumshoe. She's the owner and sole op of New Yawk City's Do It Right Detective Agency. Maybe it's just that after all the earnest, politically correct, female eyes that jogged onto the bookshelves in the eighties, it was just refreshing to find a, well, broad, but by the mid-nineties, Wanda really did feel like a breath of fresh air. The prolific Frankel believes that "if you have the energy and ideas to write a lot of books, someone is willing to publish them, and, even more incredibly, someone is willing to read them, and (gasp) BUY them, well, who wouldn't be prolific?" So there. By the way, she's also the co-author (with Joan Rivers) of Men Are Stupid . . . And They Like Big Boobs: A Woman's Guide to Beauty Through Plastic Surgery. NOVELS
