Ex-cop and vietnam vet MALLORY has a brand new bag. He's an up-and-coming writer of hardboiled detective stories. He makes his home in Port City, Iowa, but he seems to get around, getting himself into various scraps. Sort of a hardboiled Murder He Wrote. as far as amateur sleuths go, this one's not too shabby (and a hell of a lot less annoying than Jessica Fletcher). Of course, it helps that his creator is one of the genre's best writers, Max Allan Collins, the man responsible for MS. TREE and NATE HELLER.
