KNIGHTSBRIDGE (one name only--just like Spenser) is a Vietnam vet turned private investigator for Joe Venice Investigations in Boston. The agency's offices are located on a forty-two foot motorboat, La Vita Nuova, which is moored on the St. Charles River between Boston and Cambridge.
And there's a nice little jab at local boy Spenser here, too, except Rayan calls him Chaucer.
The author's career has included stints as a software entrepreneur, writer, violinist, and cook. Black Gravity, his first novel, was nominated for an Edgar Allan Poe Award, and for some reason ( the title?) I'm still not sure of, I always thought Knightsbridge was black. Evidently he wasn't but I'm assured that Black Gravity was very dark and even surreal at times, with Knightsbridge driving and actually living at one point in an old Checker cab, when the case takes him to a grimy one-hoss town in Wyoming.
