Juan Ges
Created by Andreu Martin (1949)

JUAN GES is a Spanish PI created by Barcelona-born Martin, who has has written for many magazines and also for cinema, theater and TV, as well as putting out over fifteen crime novels.

Martin mixes official investigation with the work of the P.I, as he weaves the strands of two separate, tangled stories together. As in Montalban's other novels, Si es no es (1983) Ges' only known recorded case, offers a grim, starkly realistic view of Spanish society.

Although there are no recurring characters in Martin's books, he has also written about another private eye, Daniel Ponce.
