Reno Raines/Vince Black
Created by Stephen J. Cannell (1941- 2010)
It might have been cheese, but hey, it was action-packed cheese.
Studly Lorenzo Lamas (did the man not own a shirt?) starred in Renegade, a rip-snorting syndicated series with surprisingly long legs than ran for five seasons. He played RENO RAINES, a tough, street-wise cop who's framed for murder. He busts out of prison and takes it on the lam, and becomes modern-day bounty hunter VINCE BLACK, tracking down fugitives for the price on their heads, while trying to clear his real name.
The show combined a cutting edge visual style with classic storytelling, and the contemporary western vibe was intentional -- hokey, perhaps, right down to his faithful Indian companion, but often quite entertaining anyway.
