RITA NOONAN is a New York eye who's getting a little bored after seven years at Ortner and Lloyd Investigations tailing cheating spouses. And a promotion doesn't seem too likely, either. So she strikes out on her own.
From most accounts, Rita's a likable enough character, tough but tender, and she actually works her cases with a cool, competent professionalism that's refreshing. Unfortunately, neither of the books in the series made it into paperback and a savage review in Publisher's Weekly for the second book probably didn't help matters.
