Nicola Sharpe
Created by Cathy Cole

NICOLA SHARPE is a private eye who lives and works in Sydney's inner west suburb of Balmain dealing with dodgy property developers, hardened dock workers and slimy union officials -- all of whom are less than impressed to have a woman butting in on their deals. Out of necessity she's got to be tough and capable and this ensures that the books are strong and interesting.

Dr. Catherine Cole is a novelist and non fiction writer who lectures in the Writing and Cultural Studies Area at the University of Technology (Sydney), and whose interests focus on creativity and cultural practice, particularly in the post colonial context in countries such as Vietnam. Her other works include the academic monograph, Private Dicks and Feisty Chicks: An Interrogation of Crime Fiction (2004).
