Murder Will Out
Created by Lew X. Lunsworth
"Though it hath no tongue, Murder Will Out!"
A ll I know about this war-time radio show is that it was one of many which encouraged audience involvement in solving each episode's mystery, and that it starred William Gargan, who would go on to play private eye Martin Kane on radio and television.
But in this one, he played INSPECTOR BURKE, Chief of Homicide, who was on hand to wrap up the mystery at the end of each episode.
During the 1945 run, Victory Bonds were awarded as prizes, while in later episodes, contestants could win Savings Bonds. As well, each contestant who cracked that evening's case would receive a Gold Detective's Certificate, suitably framed, bestowing upon them the honor of joining the ranks of Expert Amateur Detectives.
