Created by Lee Goldberg
Just what the world needs now: an over-educated and under-employed slacker twenty-nine year-old security guard for one of those ubitquious SoCal gated communities who gets it into his head to play private eye. But HARVEY MAPES is more than he appears (and more entertaining than he sounds, too).
When one of the community's wealthy residents hires Harvey to tail his wife, he jumps at the chance, finally figuring on realizing a lifetime of P.I. fantasies nurtured by a steady stream of detective novels and TVLand reruns. But when things turn out to be far more complicated -- and dangerous -- than he expected, the rookie gumshoe shows unexpected grit and ingenuity.
Lee Goldberg is a two-time Edgar nominee whose many TV writing and/or producing credits include Diagnosis Murder, Nero Wolfe and Monk. He's also the author of the very successful Diagnosis Murder and upcoming Monk series of original paperback mystery novels.
