Ferrell

Created by John Van der Zee

And then there's FERRELL, an ex-San Francisco cop, "divorced and rejected" (oh, poor baby), who decides to make a new start by working as a casino security officer in Lake Tahoe, on the Nevada/California border.

Kirkus praised the novel for avoiding the mobster antics and organized crime shenanigans usually associated with the gambling setting ("not a capo in sight") and for some intriguing characters, while respected crime fiction historian Robin W. Winks included it in his extensive list of his Favorite Mystery Books.
