Mark East
Created by Hilda Lawrence (Hildegarde Kronemiller)

This tough dick gets by with a little help from his friends.

MARK EAST is a typical Manhattan PI of his time, young, urban and hard-boiled. But he's saddled with the help of a pair of spinster amateur sleuths, Bessie Petty and Beulah Pond from the sticks. Lawrence used this unlikely pairing of world-weary big city gumshoe and little-old-lady amateurs in three interesting stories that built tension on the framework of opposites.
