ANDREW DOUGLAS, the lead character in The Danger,
is a top operative of (and a partner in) Liberty Market Ltd.,
a London-based detective agency specializing in kidnap cases.
Dick Francis is, of course, the British champion jockey-turned-thriller
writer famous for his horse-racing themed mysteries. His crippled
champion jockey-turned-private eye Sid
Halley, who appeared in three books, and spawned a TV
series, is probably his best known character.

I wondered why the premise seemed so familiar. Now I know --
I read it years ago in this book. Thanks, Jim."
