Susan Chase
Created by Steve Brown

She's blonde, she's buff, she's SUSAN CHASE, Beach Girl P.I. I'm sure any similarity to Baywatch Nights is entirely coincidental...

Actually Susan's a twenty-something lifeguard in Myrtle Beach who moonlights as a private eye whose speciality is tracking down runaways, and she's no ditz in a bikini. Even better, in a refreshing change, she's not squeaky clean -- she smokes, drinks, cusses and has been known to kick a little ass, when the situation merits it. She's appeared in three well-received, action-packed "Generation X" mysteries, so far, by small publisher Chick Springs Publications, which unfortunately were a little hard to find. But recently the first in the series, Color Her Dead, has been re-released as a mass market paperback by iBooks.

Steve makes his home in Greenville, S.C., a little over four hours--much too far, he complains--from the beach. He's a member of Mystery Writers of America and Sisters In Crime, and is also the author Black Fire and Of Love and War.
