John Blaine
Directed by Colin Bateman

JOHN BLAINE is a reporter who plies his trade in Belfast. He's been described as a "15-stone ex-hurling star." However, there seems to be a little dispute here. Al Hubin thinks the hero of Divorcing Jack is Dan Starkey, who's since appeared in several other novels. Certainluy, he steals the show in this one.

And Crook of Australia, who's actually studying Bateman's book while in pursuit of a degree, concurs. He writes that "the hero of the novel is without doubt Dan Starkey."
