Created by Nancy Baker Jacobs
A Twin Cities P.I., DEVON MacDONALD is yet another female gumshoe to join the ranks. Her gimmick is grief and guilt-she's a former elementary schoolteacher who still grieves over the accidental death of her three-year old son, the victim of a drunk driver.
Her partner is a cranky, older man, Sam Sherman, (can you say father-figure), who's taken Devon under his wing as a junior partner in the wake of her son's death and the departure of her husband (current whereabouts unknown). Devon's living in a tiny, cramped apartment, now, driving an ailing Honda, and trying to piece her life back together, and in the process, she's starting to become quite a detective. There's quite a bit of potential in this series. Keep an eye out.
Author Jacobs' background includes stints as a journalist,
