West Coast security firm investigator JACK DEVLIN's first novel , And Justice For One, caused quite a bit of a stir when it was published in 1992. Not so much detective fiction as a rather nasty revenge tale starring a private detective intent on avenging his brother's near-fatal beating.
"The Death Wish of the nineties" is what William J. Caunitz, author of One Police Plaza, called it and he wasn't far off. Two subsequent novels attempted to mine the same ground, but neither generate managed to create much of a buzz.
