Wise-cracking private eye KATE KINSELLA has quite a medical background, thanks to her background as a nurse.
A bit adrift, and at loose ends over the recent death of her lover, Kate decided to find out for herself if a chance remark she had overheard, that "anyone can be a P.I.," was actually true or not. She runs her detective agency, Medical and Nursing Investigations, from an office over the local undertaker, a rather kinky individual named Hubert Humberstone. But the bizarre location and Hubert's occasional aid, have turned out well for Kate, bringing her a fair bit of business.
Kate's first appearance, Deadly Errand, was nominated for a John Creasey Award for Best First Novel in 1991.
