JAKE HATCH is a Korean War veteran who works as a plainclothes cop/detective for the Burlington Northern Railroad out of the Omaha office.  As such, he's got jurisdiction of the rails from Chicoago to Denver, and a widow woman at every stop.  Unfortunately, they keep getting married on him.

A fairly entertaining read, although Campbell tries a little too hard to make Hatch "folksy," and occasionally comes off as someone trying to act like Andy Griffith.

Robert Campbell also wrote the Whistler series.
