May 2009 -- According to Variety, Antonio Banderas is set to play NED CRUZ, a Los Angeles P.I. hired to find a missing stripper whose very existence is in doubt, in The Big Bang, a "two-fisted" detective film to be directed by Tony Krantz. It's based on a script by Erik Jendresen, the man who penned Band of Brothers.

The gumshoe's quest leads to the New Mexico desert, where he finds a trail of bodies and contends with a brutal Russian boxer, meth heads, three LAPD detectives and an aging billionaire obsessed with discovering the "God Particle" - the theoretical source of all matter in the universe. (Set for a 2010 release.).

Interestingly, Richard Rionda Del Castro is also producing Give 'em Hell, Malone, another currently-in-production (as of this writing) P.I. film.
