Cape Cod's ARISTOTLE "SOC" SOCARIDES is a part-time fisherman/private eye/deep sea diver whose adventures seem to always revolve around the sea. Great local colour, and some sharp writing.

I ran into Paul Kemprecos and his wife years back, at the Bouchercon in Toronto, and thoroughly enjoyed chatting with them. He's a first generation American whose parents were Greek immigrants. He worked for over twenty years as a reporter and editor on various Cape Cod newspapers. They often go skiing in the Laurentians and claim to love Montreal. And I congratulated him on winning a Shamus for Best First Novel for Cool Blue Tomb. They were nice folks.
